Due to time and location constraints, Nurse Assisting and Basic Health Care skills will run concurrently at SLCC Jordan Campus / 3491 W 9000 S, West Jordan, UT 84088 / Jordan Health Services Building (LAB) 104D.
Pre-Contest will take place at competition start time: March 24, 9 a.m. Clothing and resume will be checked at pre-contest and will follow the guidelines set in the Technical Standards. Competition will consist of 5-8 individual stations and each station will be scored individually. Additionally, a score for overall patient interaction will be tallied. (NOTE- Patients may be live, OR mannequins.) The professional development and written test should be taken prior to the competition and scores will be added into your overall points. SLCC has Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD installed for Architectural Drafting. Let me know by March 15th if your contestant requires something else to be installed on a computer for their use during this competition. This year, there will be NO hand drawing/drafting requirement as in years past. All work will be done on a computer. Contestants may bring 2 textbooks and a set of 11”x17” architectural plans for reference. Contestants will produce a minimum of 3 architectural drawings of a proposed light commercial medical building from a provided project by a local architect. Contestants will plot their work on one 24”x36” Arch D size title block. Contestants should have their title block and Revit/AutoCAD template prepared before the competition so they can focus on the competition problem on March 24th.
