SLCC Campus Policies

SLCC CAMPUS POLICIES:
Our wonderful hosts at Salt Lake Community College have asked me to remind all participants of the visitor policies that will be enforced during the state conference.
  • Parking is limited to “general parking” areas.  Do not park in any restricted or limited use stalls unless you have the appropriate vehicle designation.  Buses must be parked in the parking lots North of the LAC building.
  • No “outside” food may be consumed in the SLCC Student Center.  (Example: Do not order or bring a pizza into the student center, and yes, SkillsUSA Utah has been fined for this in the past!)
    • The only exception to this rule, is if a contestant or advisor has a special/specific diet due to medical or religious reasons and food they need is not available on campus.
  • No portable furniture is allowed in any SLCC campus building.  (Example, folding lawn/beach chairs.)
  • No signs, posters or tape can be applied to any walls or bulletin boards of any building.
SLCC wants to thank you for your cooperation.  Let’s all be pleasant guests during our visit on the campuses of Salt Lake Community College.

ALTERNATES/SUBSTITUTIONS: The substitutions procedure this year will be different than previous years:
  • If the student you are wishing to use as an alternate/substitute IS NOT a SkillsUSA Member, they cannot be utilized as Alternates.
  • All Substitutions will be completed through myself (Angie Day - angelee.day@gmail.com) or the State Director (skillsusa.utahstatedirector@gmail.com) by:
    1. Emailing us the School Name, Contestant Name, and Contest Name of the Student that will be Dropping Out, and the School Name, Student's Name, and Contest Name for the Alternate you would like to use as a substitute.
    2. We will swap them out accordingly and send you a confirmation email when it is completed.
OBSERVERS: Observers will not be required to register this year.  If you have anyone that wishes to support the Contestants and our Organization, they are allowed to attend.

MODELS: Models will not be required to register for contests this year. Contestants that need a model will need to remember to bring someone with them.  It is preferred that the model be a Member of SkillsUSA, but it is not required.
