SkillsUSA Utah Weekly Update – Advisors / Students Monday, February 19, 2024 The Monday SkillsUSA Utah Weekly Update is organized by topic along with information for each topic. The items will contain information that is important for you and your students to know as well as information that is of general interest. Regular Contest Registration Deadline February 21 Utah Leadership and Skills Conference (ULSC) ULSC will be held March 28 & 29, 2024 at SLCC. Conference registration is now open! Regular registration is January 22 – February 21. Registrations between Feb 22 – Feb 29 will incur a $10 late fee per registrant. No registrations will be allowed past February 29th, so be sure to get that completed before the registration window closes. When registering, remember that students should enter their personal email and not a school email. This is important for testing information that will be sent early in March. Advisors are required to register as state conference participants and pay the required conference registration fee. We require a student to advisor ratio of 1:10 for SkillsUSA Utah events. Advisors must supervise their students during all conference activities, in accordance with the local school, district, LEA policies and procedures. This website will have files that you can download regarding competitions, including schedules, materials lists, etc. Apply to be a State Officer Utah’s State Officer Program includes training that will help students become their best; it is designed to provide unique opportunities to students that want to be leaders. SkillsUSA State Officer accepted officer applicants will be added to a ballot and are permitted to campaign at the state conference held March 28 & 29. Officers will be elected by student delegates and announced at the awards session of the state conference. Do you think you have what it takes?
