2024 Woodturning Contest Information

2024 SKILLSUSA UTAH WOODTURNING COMPETITION
Please read files below for more information and required forms. 

Location of Competition
Lobby of the Lifetime Activity Center (LAC) at Salt Lake Community College (SLC), 4600 S. Redwood Road.

Schedule Friday, March 29
8:00 - 8:20: -Contestants place turnings and a hardcopy of Notebook sections 3b and 3c on display tables.
8:30 - 8:50 Orientation meeting for contestants and teachers/advisors.
9:00 - 12:00: Contestant interviews. (Room to be announced.)
9:00 – 11:40 Judges evaluate projects. (Judges to be announced.)
9:15 - 10:00 Contestants take written test. (Room to be announced.)
10:00 - 12:00 Each contestant gets photographed with their project.
12:00 – 1:00 Lunch.
1:00 - 1:40: Possible woodturning demonstration by Kip Christensen. Lobby area.
2:00 -2:30 Debriefing meeting for contestants and teachers/advisors. (Room to be announced.)
6:00 – 8:30 Awards Ceremony, LAC Arena. Medals and prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd winners.
